My name is Mattie and I am the hands and creator behind Speckle Ware! I am a 22 year old recent graduate from Kalamazoo College, living in my hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am a wife to an outrageously supportive and loving husband, an auntie to five lively nephews, two nieces, and a sister to three brothers. My love for art has always run deep, and I have tried just about every medium out there. But everything changed my sophomore year of college when I took my first ceramics course, “World Pottery.” I was hooked!
In the Spring of 2020, I graduated from Kalamazoo College with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio Art - Ceramics, Art History, and Business. I was fortunate enough to spend this year steadily working on my wheel throwing and creating Speckle Ware.
